Knowing where you were yesterday narrows down the likely candidates. I do know the location but will PM answer so others can guess.

I take it this is somewhere on the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway.

Now there is a level crossing so how about Idridgehay Station?

You are correct on both counts. An opportunity taken while we were in Derby for the ACoRP (Association of Community Rail Partnerships) awards, and an excellent reminder of the previous generation of multiple units that I was so familiar with in my youth.   Also took a trip on the local community rail line, and have a more current "flavour" of that than previously.   Good to have a volunteer in our carriage highlighting the various activities of the CRP (Community Rail Partnership) and station friends groups, and their effects.
