Posting in the "Old stuff" area as i'm looking for ... old stuff

Does anyone have any TransWilts pictures (especially Melksham Station) from the 1940s - looking for one to use in a monage that represents the last 10 decades and it's the only one I'm missing .. Thanks!

A Google images search for '1940s Melksham station' the 17th result is a photo of Mr G Ellis! Has he been campaigning there that long?  Grin Grin

I'm afraid we had accepted a date on that from someone else and it's turned out to be much older ... just this morning, and that's what left the gap in our decades.  Lisa has a copy of exactly the same picture on a postcard, but the postcard was written 30 years earlier and that pushes the picture back to just before the first world war!

When do you need it by? I'm flying out to my granddads in 6 weeks, and I know he has loads of old railway photos from his area growing up. He grew up near Bath so if my geography is right he wouldn't of been far away, so may well have some covering the Transwilts in the 40s.

I'm afraid I'm looking to fill a gap in a Queen's Birthday display that's come about because of that problem with the previous picture ... would be very interested in 1940s pictures later next month, yes, but alas not for current need.   Thanks for the offer ;-)
