Over the last 3 days I've travelled on 8 different HST (High Speed Train) operated services. I've noticed on all of them, the Train Managers have dropped First from their announcements.
Is this some form of rebrand that's happening?

It's already confirmed that it's becoming GWR (Great Western Railway) from September - maybe this is a first step.

I hope the grey/yellow on publications might be a stop-gap branding & not the GWR (Great Western Railway) brand colours.

Not particularly pleasing to the eye & hard to read for some people

Has there been an official announcement? Can you point me at it?

Intrigued to know if the letters 'GWR' would actually expand into anything - i.e. would they be calling themselves the Great Western Railway (or worse, Great Western Railways), or just GWR?

Wasn't it confirmed in the Direct Award, with additional confirmation that the rebrand will continue apace & be complete well before September?

I'm not too keen on it either. Seems to be all a part of the marketing that the GW (Great Western) mainline is being rebuilt so hopefully it will go in time. Glad to see First getting away from corporate colours across their companies. I do like the GWR logo and green colour scheme.

Can't point out a public announcement, but I can confirm staff have been told of the September rebrand. There are currently depot roadshows this week and next about the plans.

Be worth getting @GWR (Great Western Railway) in your twitter account now then!....

Oooh, Guiness World Records have that already, they'll have to pick something else. Suspect Guiness WR will have something to discuss.....

Years ago, I remember that bbc.com resolved to the Baltimore Bathroom Company - thought they did have a handy link for people who were looking for another organisation with similar initials.
