Hi,

This year my company is insisting that season ticket loans are paid for via cheques to the travel company direct.

I've looked on FGW (First Great Western) website and it doesn't say who to make such cheques payable to.  I'd assume First Great Western but that's probably wrong.  First Greater Western maybe?

Does anyone know.

Thanks,

Boppy.

FGW (First Great Western) is the only First Group railway company that still accepts company cheques. The number that do is dwindling - Virgin stopped a couple of months back.

So how do companies that offer loans for seasons pay for them?

Ours do an electronic transfer via the wonders of the interweb.

It is done via payroll usually.

Nice twist to the end of this query!

So after checking and carefully explaining to accounts at my office what the cheque needed to say, they then still got it wrong (for the second time!) and I ended up with a cheque saying "First Great Western Ltd".

As I was out of time and needed to renew before the yearly price increase I checked via phone with FGW (First Great Western) asking if variations would be accepted. "No" was the clear answer given.

So I went to Reading Ticket Office armed with my credit card and took my cheque still just in case.  I have to say the staff at Reading Ticket Office were very helpful (especially with helping with the Void days too) and were adamant that the cheque was fine and that variations are accepted!!!   Cheesy
