Took a photo of this fine loco last Friday at Paddington.

Looks like it has a set of surveying equipment installed up front.

A very rare visitor indeed. I think I'm right in saying that 37s haven't done any regular workings out of Paddington?

Back in the 1960s Gerry Fiennes used pairs of them on some trains (Golden Hind? Red Dragon?) to improve the timings. I think he had his wrist slapped by the BRB(resolve) because they didn't last long - a year or so at the outside.
