Good on Flybe I say. Even though they weren't permitted to stay on Network Rail's (it's not FGW▸ 's - they are but transient custodians) property they've got some free publicity in the local press. Of course the Regulation of Railways Act and Railway Byelaws are a criminal matter, but it's somewhat heavy headed of FGW to involve the British Transport Police who no doubt really appreciated being involved in a matter that would, anywhere else, be seen as civil trespass.  |

Not my words, but those of the Exeter Express & Error:  Transport police were called after a marketing team from Flybe tried to promote new flights to London ^ to rail passengers at Exeter^s St David^s Station.
British Transport Police confirmed they were called after a complaint was made by station staff.
The incident began after a marketing team from Flybe arrived at the station entrance early on Thursday, October 23, to hand out free coffee and promote its flights to London.
Staff from the station complained they did not have permission to be there - and were causing an obstruction. A new supermarket with a bakery opened in our town a couple of years ago ... and on the first day, they had their staff in the high street handing out free bread rolls outside the independent baker's. The publicity they got was non-positive, but we sure as heck learned from the local press that the new store was open and with a bakery! |

Ridiculous heavy handedness, but nice to see the BTP▸ actually doing something! (.....is non-positive the same as negative?)  |

Isn't the Flybe advert a little on the misleading side as the journey time they have quoted doesn't include the time taken to check-in??

No need to apologise - I'm impressed with the amount of research you undertook to find one single incident dating back 4 years on a different continent! .........ironically though this very same problem is becoming a very real one on the railways discussed extensively in this forum........fatties taking up so much space on a pair of seats that others are unable to sit down next to them and having to stand as a result. |

Looking at the FlyBe schedules and prices for the next few days, if I had to be in Canary Wharf or The City I would consider it, even living in Taunton. The first flight is due in at 07:50 which is 40 minutes before the first train from Taunton gets me into Paddington.
However, my colleagues who use FlyBe a lot from Southampton, refer to them as "FlyMayBe". One of them had a trip back from Edinburgh to Southampton that made an unscheduled stop in Dublin.

I was actually looking for a different article where a man who was too tall to sit in the Coach Seats on SouthWestAirlines (The Ryanair of the states) and was supposively "forced to stand for the flight" - On seeing this one from the Daily Wail I went with it instead. The reason being the article I was thinking of, the chap in question refused to pay the extra for the "extra legroom seats" and went on a twitter rant about it... The article in the case point had slightly more severity in that the passenger had very little choice it seems from face value... |

I can remember the Air SouthWest Plymouth - London City route - absolutely brilliant and much missed, whoever allowed Plymouth Airport to shut needs shooting........or being forced to use FGW▸ Paddington - Plymouth service every day for a month!!! |
