Last night's Doctor Who episode, 'Flatline'.
Outdoor railway scenes and the engine shed were filmed on the Barry Tourist Railway. The tunnel scenes were filmed, in part, in the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway's Greet Tunnel near Winchcombe. Much of the tunnel filming was done in studio and with CGI▸ though.
Despite the episode being set in Bristol I don't think any filming took place there. There was also a not too subtle nod to one famous Bristol resident. The graffiti artist featured in the episode went by the name Rigsy.

Bizarre. I don't understand this 'locations' business; I once saw a drama set in Bristol but filmed in Dublin.

The last time Bristol was actually used for the filming of Doctor Who, it was for an episode set in London! Filming in Portland Square, Bristol: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7q1P5--ZWw

Good to see that FGW▸ have acquired additional rolling stock in the Bristol area.

Scenes from 'The Diary of Anne Frank', set in the Netherlands were filmed on Welsh Back in, err, Bristol, and scenes for Jack the Ripper starring Michael Caine were filmed at the Corn Exchange in, err, Bristol.

William Huskisson MP▸ was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830. Many more have died in the same way since then. Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

And many years ago I watched the 'House of Eliott' - set in London - being filmed on Corn St in Bristol. To say nothing of all those times when Bristol has been used to film scenes for 'Casualty', set in Holby.

Can't be real. Everyone treated at the A&E Department in Holby is admitted, seen, diagnosed, treated, and often discharged, in 49 minutes. And on a Saturday evening as well!

You mean ... Holby isn't a real place?? If it was, it wouldn't be in the West Country: -by is a Viking suffix which you won't see anywhere round here. And many years ago I watched the 'House of Eliott' - set in London - being filmed on Corn St in Bristol. To say nothing of all those times when Bristol has been used to film scenes for 'Casualty', set in Holby. Internal scenes of House of Elliot were filmed in the old Lysaght offices on Silverthorne Lane. Lysaght's were responsible for many rivetted iron railway bridges in the late 19th and first half of the 20th century; it appears that for some reason they didn't manage the transition to welded construction when that technology took over.
