We have talked about it before, but rarely does road disruption make the headlines in the way that railway woes do.

The M4 heading eastbound is gridlocked due to the traffic lights at the A34 junction being out of sync.  I know of someone who has been crawling along between junctions 14 and 13 for two hours and has just reached the one mile marker to the junction.

It seems no-one knows how to turn the traffic signals off and make the roundabout an un-signalled one.

Ironic that the problem at Slough this week was down to the fact Network Rail could not power the signals - at Chieveley the Highways Agency seem to be unable to pull the plug!

A rather simple solution seems to happen round here during roadworks where they have put a temporary set up instead.
A bin bag and duct tape over the top which surely would have worked as a temporary solution?
