'Dullest' calendar - of telephone boxes of Wales - fails to sell

Its publisher says 'not even the most patriotic Welsh person wants to buy a copy'

A "dull" calendar of red telephone boxes around Wales has struggled to sell a single copy.

The "Fast Disappearing Red Telephone Boxes of Wales 2014" has been branded "naff, nerdy and boring" by its publisher Kevin Beresford.

Mr Beresford, 61, was responsible for unlikely seasonal hit Roundabouts of Great Britain 2012 - and was hoping to repeat his success. But it had failed to attract any buyers since going on sale in September.

It features phone boxes in areas including Monmouth and Llanberis in Gwynedd.

Mr Beresford, of Redditch near Birmingham, said: "We now feel the need to confess and state, we may have crossed a boring bridge too far. But, are we not all fed up with David Beckham, six-pack firemen, Lady Ga-Ga, One Direction and dare I say Cliff Richard? We have created a calendar that is considered to be so hum-drum, so naff, so nerdy, so dull, so parochial that not even the most patriotic Welsh person wants to buy a copy.

"In short we have not sold one calendar and we are past mid-November in the shopping run up to Christmas."

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.
