Can we have a plain, English language translation for that QR^▸ (QR Code - Quick Response code (2D bar code))?

Where would be the fun in that? (Hint: You could just click 'quote' and read it!)

As the current poll results show, more than 50% of the respondents don't have QR reading technology.

AFAIK^▸ ('as far as I know') it's:

You could at least have corrected the spelling as well - it should have been ^Your quote came out a little off.^ not ^You^re quote came out a little off^

Aha. Sincere apologies TJ. Must remember not to enter an arse kicking competition whilst wearing slippers. 

I did do 'quote' but was blinded by all the %20s. Used a browser based QR^▸ (QR Code - Quick Response code (2D bar code)) reader to decipher, but Phil beat me to the answer.

Should've known that it would be a pedantic grammar correction. 

And my maths failed as well. Added up the current poll results and got 16 for options two to five.

While I do occasionally fix 'broken' quote marks within another member's post in the interests of clarity, I would not presume to amend their text or correct their spelling.

Graham E - E as in first letter of surname.  This is not the first forum I have been a member of, and on others the name "Graham" was sometimes taken before I joined - thus "grahame" to provide a consistency - mostly for me so that I don't forget what my name is somewhere.


This poll was originally open ended.  I have now set an end date at the weekend, at which point we can draw conclusions.

Well I have done (FGW^▸ (First Great Western) timetable poster) but I'm not a frequent user of them.

Sorry I didn't place a vote because to say yes might imply I use them regularly.

I find it useful, and it is appropriate since on a mobile device it takes you to a mobile version of this site that is readily usable.  Saves typing in a url on a tiny keyboard, then I can save site to favourites and never type it again.  You can also photograph the QR^▸ (QR Code - Quick Response code (2D bar code)) and save it or email it.

These codes can effectively be virtual business cards, containing map links, telephone numbers and so on.  So someone seeing a website or poster can just add it all to their contacts, no more losing slips of paper.  So it reaches more people, faster, with almost no expense.

As a significant proportion of people use QR^▸ (QR Code - Quick Response code (2D bar code)) codes, I'm going to place a QR code on each page. The current demonstration simply links to the top of the Coffee Shop.  But I'm going to modify that so that the QR code use provides a link to the current board or topic.   That way, if anyone prints out a page / hands it around others can get back to it.
