Line problem in the Langley area.
Train services between London Paddington and Slough are being disrupted due to a vehicle striking a bridge in the Langley area. Engineers are working as fast as possible to restore services to normal. Short notice alterations, cancellations and delays of up to 60 minutes can be expected.

Assorted cancellations / revisions from across the network :

13:00 London Paddington to Oxford due 14:26
This train will be terminated at Iver. It will additionally call at: Iver. It will no longer call at: Slough, Maidenhead, Twyford, Reading, Tilehurst, Pangbourne, Goring & Streatley, Cholsey, Didcot Parkway and Oxford. This is due to a vehicle striking a bridge.

13:30 London Paddington to Oxford due 15:01
This train has been revised. It will additionally call at: West Drayton, Iver, Langley, Burnham and Taplow. This is due to a vehicle striking a bridge.

13:15 London Paddington to Reading due 14:13
This train will be terminated at Hayes & Harlington. It will no longer call at: West Drayton, Iver, Langley, Slough, Burnham, Taplow, Maidenhead, Twyford and Reading. This is due to a vehicle striking a bridge.

13:30 Swansea to London Paddington due 16:25
This train will be started from Cardiff Central. It will no longer call at: Swansea, Neath, Port Talbot Parkway and Bridgend.

14:09 Great Malvern to Taunton due 17:29
This train will be started from Worcester Shrub Hill. It will no longer call at: Great Malvern, Malvern Link and Worcester Foregate Street.

Road replacement transport is in operation between Great Malvern and Cheltenham Spa.

12:30 Swansea to London Paddington due 15:25
This train will be started from Newport South Wales. It will no longer call at: Swansea, Neath, Port Talbot Parkway, Bridgend and Cardiff Central. This is due to a delay on a previous journey.

11:40 Penzance to Exmouth due 15:13
This train will be started from Par. It will no longer call at: Penzance, St Erth, Hayle, Camborne, Redruth, Truro and St Austell. This is due to a member of train crew being unavailable.

16:00 Cardiff Central to Weymouth due 19:27
This train will be started from Bristol Temple Meads. It will no longer call at: Cardiff Central, Newport South Wales, Severn Tunnel Jn, Patchway and Filton Abbey Wood. This is due to a broken down train.

12:30 Cardiff Central to Portsmouth Harbour due 15:55
This train will be started from Bristol Temple Meads. It will no longer call at: Cardiff Central, Newport South Wales and Filton Abbey Wood. This is due to a broken down train.

11:40 Penzance to Exmouth due 15:13
This train has been restarted from Truro. It will no longer call at: Penzance, St Erth, Hayle, Camborne, Redruth, Exeter Central, St James' Park, Polsloe Bridge, Digby & Sowton, Topsham, Exton, Lympstone Commando, Lympstone Village and Exmouth. This is due to earlier signalling problems.

12:30 Swansea to London Paddington due 15:25
This train has been reinstated.

12:00 Cardiff Central to Brighton due 16:14
This train will be started from Bristol Temple Meads. It will no longer call at: Cardiff Central, Newport South Wales, Severn Tunnel Jn and Filton Abbey Wood. This is due to a broken down train.

13:30 Cardiff Central to Portsmouth Harbour due 16:49
This train will be reinstated.

Bridge strikes really anoy me because there isn't much teh rail industry can do about them.  Does anyone know if the vehicle driver's insurance company gets hit with a bill for compensating the companies and passengers or does it end up costing the farepayer/taxpayer/company?
