A train driver was injured after a block of ice or snow-covered rock thrown at a Reading-bound train shattered the window.
Officers from British Transport Police (BTP▸ ) were called to a stretch of the line near Milley Bridge at Ruscombe just before 11.20am on Sunday after reports an object lobbed from the bridge had smashed a window on a train heading towards Reading station.
Paramedics were later called as the driver of the First Great Western (FGW▸ ) train needed treatment to cuts.
A spokeswoman for BTP said officers are keen to speak with a group of youngsters seen in the area at the time.
She said: ^I can confirm that officers attended the line near to Milley Bridge, in the Ruscombe area of Berkshire, following reports of a train window being shattered.
^Police believe that the window of the Paddington to Reading train was shattered by ice that was thrown from a nearby bridge.
^The incident was reported at 11.19am and was also attended by paramedics from the South Central Ambulance Service, who treated the train driver for cuts he received as the window shattered.^
FGW said passengers were delayed for about 20 minutes and the missile might have been a rock or stone covered with snow.
