Some sets have a placard sat within the safety card holder that has the quiet carriage info. There are usually announcements and like you said, the stickers are hardly discreet.

Sounds like the passenger knew the rules exactly. He just chose to be obnoxious.
2  All across the Great Western territory / Buses and other ways to travel / Re: Newquay and Plymouth Airports - their rise and fall - ongoing discussion on: June 04, 2013, 09:50:19
Gatwick will have them but it doesn't want them, because they no longer fit in with the business model. LGW's airfield/passenger charges are pitched to favour operators with A32X/B737 sized aircraft.

Unfortunately the "milk run" style of flying doesn't really work here like it does in vaster places like Norway with Wideroe, or in Canada. Despite what people say, we live in a well connected part of the world and people will not tolerate sitting on a Dash 8 or ATR for hours just to get from A to B via X, Y & Z.
3  Journey by Journey / South Western services / Re: Wokingham station - improvements, resignalling and siding - merged posts on: May 23, 2013, 15:43:14
My goodness- do the people of Wokingham not have anything better to bitch and moan about?
4  All across the Great Western territory / Fare's Fair / Re: Problems with buying tickets/seat reservations in advance after 6:00pm (Paddington and elsewhere) on: January 29, 2013, 07:01:05
Unfortunately it's the usual story- there are a certain number of colleagues who are on permanent morale downers and that will never change.. despite probably never having it so good career wise.

Despite this there are some of us who are a little more jovial and this won't necessarily change!  Wink

Easement 3055 in the routing guide per chance?

So it was Bath Spa to Droitwich Spa, as per above priced at ^26.50.

The next question- how did you get around the "Not via Birmingham" routing point?  Wink

Go on BNM. This intrigues me!

Person in charge of platforms.. This is the only context I've seen it used.

Seeing as that page is to do with how busy services are it makes sense there isn't timetable info.

Look Ollie - see what I see on the first page of your website. This is what every user sees when they visit your website. Where the flying **** do you think they might chose to look for service information over Christmas? Maybe, just maybe the link that says "Plan your Christmas Travel Early".

That then takes them to a page which information on it that is clearly misleading to most users:
Quote
Services departing from Friday 21st - 28th December

FGW (First Great Western) have failed to provide any clear information on this. I shouldn't have to root through media centre releases from November to find this information should I.

Big and clever getting sweary over a timetable is it?
10  All across the Great Western territory / Buses and other ways to travel / Re: Motorway screens bid to stop rubbernecking by motorists on: December 27, 2012, 16:41:03
But will it stop people shooting past you in the slow lane because everyone else has taken notice of the lane closure signs and moved over?

That's also what slows it all down.

What are the current diagrams, please? Not currently able to check myself.
12  All across the Great Western territory / Fare's Fair / Re: Sleeper refund on: November 22, 2012, 12:09:09
Need to find out the retailer first. Depends whether it was purchased when FGW (First Great Western) used Trainline or since it was moved in house.

Phone numbers and refund addresses have changed.
13  All across the Great Western territory / Fare's Fair / Re: Sleeper refund on: November 22, 2012, 10:01:48
When was it purchased? At the bottom of the ticket the should be a 6 digit code, followed by a four digit code.

The format would be BX34T7G/1749 (for examples sake).

Would you mind posting the last four digit code after the forward slash?

14  Journey by Journey / TransWilts line / Re: Why offer advanced ONLY on the train with an unreliable connection? on: November 20, 2012, 10:39:42
Grahame,

It might be possible to do that combination on an earlier train. It's possibily a limitation of the booking software. Have you tried forcing a longer connection time?

Very often this produces results.

There are actually five new machines from my observations.
