Now now, E&E is a credible newspaper, as much as its bigger brother the Western Morning News! Described often as the Daily Mail with hay bales and manure.
2  Journey by Journey / London to the West / Re: Axminster Loop redoubling on: May 25, 2009, 15:19:35
The safety there is dubious, ive seen people working on the front of that green box with the doors open at about 11am, and when a train comes someone or 2 people stand in from of the box holding the doors open so that they dont hit the train, leaving a small gap between them and train...

And as soon as a train goes theyre back on the job so i doubt possession is given. Theres a train about every 2 hours each way, but hourly from about 6-10 in the evening.

whats wrong with the 1553 BRI» (Bristol Temple Meads - next trains) to TAU» (Taunton - next trains)....then??

Nope, FGW (First Great Western) 2 coach 158 if I remember. 10 late which meant they held my connecting train (HST (High Speed Train)) at Taunton for alot of passengers, making that one late. I was with 4 others and stood in the vestibule behind the driver until about Weston!

In the middle of the day that may be so, however I see no problems in keeping the 1420 Waterloo - Paignton which serves as a peak train out of Exeter Central. It usually splits from 6 coaches to 3 at Exeter anyhow.

Dare I mention those spare DMUs (Diesel Multiple Unit) laying over at Salisbury for much of the day (and summer Saturdays  Lips sealed)

Ooooh better not mention them. Probably either in for referb, or Romsey rounders?

I agree not all of the trains should be stopped at EXD» (Exeter St Davids - next trains), and I will sorely miss the fast trains...

Well I was going to ask Stewart Palmer a few questions about Axminster when I see him on Tuesday, so I'm sure that will come up.

I'm guessing its because of rolling stock and lack of it? And regularity at EXD» (Exeter St Davids - next trains)?

Haha I'm glad! However I'm glad I'm on SWT (South West Trains) after a trip back on the 15:53 to Taunton from Bristol... god...!!!!

Hey people,
My real name is Kieran Milton... and im a SWT (South West Trains) passenger. Sound like Alcoholics anonomyous?

Im also a Representative of the Passenger Panel for South West Trains, so if I see something about SWT on here I think needs mentioning it will go straight to the top of the company Smiley

Hi

Digby & Sowton is also closest station for those of us in the North Devon area, to get to /from Exeter "International" airport by rail, albeit the final leg by pre-booked taxi.

Now if FGW (First Great Western) pushed for the next passing loop at Cranbrook ....... re-open station, shuttle etc would be possible.... anything not to have to use their "airport bus-link" from EXD» (Exeter St Davids - next trains).

Fecks

Im sure Pinhoe would be alot easier to get there, and cheaper as its  much shorter to the airport than from Digby.

And the passing at cranbrook would be down to SWT (South West Trains), and there wouldnt be a shuttle as SWT are running an hourly service that way from december.

For a huge drop down, go to Exeter St Thomas. When jumping down from the train, the foot step is at my waist height (im 6 foot!)
