A few from yesterday:
1P16 0753 Oxford to London Paddington - This service was cancelled between Worcester Shrub Hill and Oxford due to an issue with the train crew (TG).
1P38 1632 Great Malvern to London Paddington - was diverted between Worcester Shrub Hill & Didcot Parkway missing out the north Cotswolds.
1W03 1734 London Paddington to Ledbury - This service was cancelled between Ledbury and Hereford due to a person hit by a train (XC▸ ).

Once again 05:23 Hereford to London Paddington due 08:23
Facilities on the 05:23 Hereford to London Paddington due 08:23.
Will be formed of 5 coaches instead of 9. Service full and standing from Charlbury. This is becoming quite a regular occurrence recently. This service was also held Charlbury for 18 minutes due to the late running 06:50 Paddington to Great Malvern service. It departed Hanborough at roughly the time the following 06:43 Worcester Shrub Hill to Paddington train was supposed to arrive, leaving a very full platform of passengers who decided to wait for that train (or, quite possibly, simply couldn't board the crush loaded HFD» : PAD» short-form). |

This service was cancelled due to late arrival of an inbound service (YI)
16:32 Great Malvern to London Paddington due 19:29 will be cancelled.
This is due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time
16:58 London Paddington to Great Malvern due 19:25 has been cancelled.
This is due to a shortage of train crew
19:04 Great Malvern to London Paddington due 21:26 will be cancelled.

19:53 London Paddington to Hereford due 22:57 will no longer call at Hanborough, Kingham, Moreton-In-Marsh, Honeybourne, Pershore and Worcestershire Parkway Hl.
It has been delayed at London Paddington and is now 28 minutes late.
This is due to this train being late from the depot I wonder what the logic was for retaining the Charlbury and Evesham stops whilst missing out some more used intermediate stations between Oxford and Worcester. |

I am not yet convinced that Open Access operators are beneficial...
There's an article in The Times today (behind paywall) headed "Fresh rail row as Labour signals crackdown on private services" beginning "In a letter to the rail regulator, the transport secretary has warned that open-access providers pose competition to other, soon-to-be-nationalised operators..." which suggests the government is thinking the same thing. |

Sunday January 5 After a few good days... 14:46 London Paddington to Great Malvern due 17:15 will be cancelled.
This is due to a shortage of train crew.
Last Updated:05/01/2025 04:58 And the preceding service: 13:46 London Paddington to Great Malvern due 16:16 will be started from Worcester Shrub Hill.
It will no longer call at London Paddington, Reading, Didcot Parkway, Oxford, Hanborough, Charlbury, Kingham, Moreton-In-Marsh, Honeybourne, Evesham, Pershore and Worcestershire Parkway Hl.
This is due to a fault with the signalling system. And after those two cancellations as far as services from London/Oxford to the Cotswolds are concerned: Facilities on the 15:46 London Paddington to Great Malvern due 18:15.
Will be formed of 5 coaches instead of 9. There are no reservations on this service. |

1W36 1921 Reading to Worcester Foregate Street - This service was cancelled due to the planned train being replaced with a slower train (MS) whist JourneyCheck explains the 1921 Reading to Worcester Foregate Street cancellation as "due to a shortage of train crew" |
