The night headlight is actually angled towards the cess so that it reflects any speed signs located therein, the day headlight is supposed to be angled forward so that trackside lookouts can see them as you approach

There has been a lot of clearance done. You can easily see the boundary fence in places plus all the rubbish that the households along that streach have been throwing onto the railway land.

What are the wire cages for - just to hold rubbish?

They mark where the drains are presumably so that the workers don't fall into them!

Number of things noticed today.

At Stapleton Road there was a company boring soil test holes in the old track bed where the farm use to be.

White water filled barriers have been place up Filton bank from the access point by the Ford dealership up to Horfield Station

Also seen in a number of locations over the past few days have been a group taking pictures of the vegetation that needs clearing lineside.

Why not go via Basingstoke?

Trains run from Mortimer after 12 plus when you arrive at Waterloo its straight onto the Jubilee Line and a change a Canning Town to the DLR (Docklands Light Railway)

Camera shows that there has been some gauging tests on the depot today and there is a turbo stabled in the new shed.

Just noticed that the Kennet Bridge loop will be made reversible.

Could be where xc services with a layover are sent to free up space in the station??

150001 ran two test trains today.

It is hoped to be out doing a few trips in passenger service tomorrow starting with the 1007 to help speed up training.

Full service with both units is due to start on 27 Feb.

Was told this week that over the Christmas period platform 9 (new 10) is being widened from the didcot end up to the over bridge with a 25mph speed through it.

Also remember if they come to Reading then they would have be route locked to the basingstoke or gatwick as these are the only ones with guards.
