2  Journey by Journey / Shorter journeys in Plymouth and Cornwall / Class 158s to Newquay on: June 12, 2012, 19:15:05
Hi

I was just wondering, Since Class 158s are sort of my favorite units, and I went to Newquay less than a fortnight ago and had a lovely time in the town and on my HST (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units))/Voyager there & back...

Have class 158s ever made it up to Newquay, an if so does anyone have any photographic evidence?

Thanks,
Jim.

Hi

What exact stock will the working for the Dawlish Airshow this year, since the 67s and 57s have gone? Ive heard lots of rumors about lots of different stock doing it, including HSTs (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units)), Ive even heard 159s will be doing shuttles!

P.S. It would be nice to see actual 158s on the Sea Wall on Thursday..... Wink

Thanks,
Jim.

Hi!

I am currently in Berlin and I was on a train this lunchtime, and these performers boardded the train and played a very interesting song. I have a vid when I was onboard the train. You can hear the song best between 1:20 and 1:30

Does anyone know the name of this song??

Thanks,
Jim.

10  All across the Great Western territory / Introductions and chat / I want more trains, services, ETC on: April 12, 2011, 21:45:58
I'm Jim Kettle, i'm 14 and im from Salisbury, and theres a few things I would like to shout out to Britain's Rail Network!!!!

-Firstly, I want FGW (First Great Western) to oporate a houl;y service to Brighton, Not 1/2 times daily!

-I want XC (Cross Country Trains (franchise)) to make their Paignton runs at least hourly, like VT (Virgin Trains - former franchise (or, possibly, in a France context, Versement Transport - a payroll tax on employers to fund local transport) ) did before they passed the franchise over to Arriva back in the old days!!!

-SWT (South West Trains) to bring back their Brighton service.

-SWT to bring back their West of Exeter service

-ATW (Arriva Trains Wales (former Train Operating Company)) to bring back their Manchester-Waterloo service

-Bring Barleston station back!

-Give Three Oaks, Doleham & Winchelsea back it's hourly service!!!

-LM (London Midland - recent franchise) to Bring back their Gloucester-Worcester shuttle!!!

-FGW to bring back their 158s on the Devon Metro

-FGW to bring back their Westbury-Southamptobn shuttlet at at least two hours.

-FGW to bring back then Penzance-Portsmouth service!

So, any comments, questions, points of veiws, etc?

Thanks,
Jim.
11  All across the Great Western territory / The Wider Picture in the United Kingdom / Salisbury-Exeter St Davids via Westbury - Is it safe for me snow-wise? on: December 18, 2010, 06:30:31
Hi!

Later on today, I will be catching the 09:03 to WOS» (Worcester Shrub Hill - next trains) from SAL and alighting at WSB» (Westbury - next trains), and then changing for the 10:00 PAD» (Paddington (London) - next trains)-EXD» (Exeter St Davids - next trains) service, and alighting at EXD.

Coming back home on the same day, getting the 14:58 Paddington service from EXD, changing at Castle Cary for the Weymouth to Gloucester service, and then changing at WSB for the CDF» (Cardiff - next trains)-PMH service, getting me back into SAL at 17:32

But with all this snow, would this trip be safe?

Thanks,
Jim.
