A big thank you to all of those who signed my petition calling for government support for the proposed East-West rail line. It now has nearly 500 signatures which should mean that we get some sort of response from the Government. I have been told that there have been some compatibility problems with the east-west passengers' website. Apologies for that, as you can probably tell, website building is not one of my major strengths. I completely agree with the starting point issue, though I would be tempted to go even further. A through route from the south-west/south-Wales to East Anglia would be a much needed addition to the cross-country routes.

Apologies for raising a non-firstgreatwestern story, but I just wanted to let you all know about a campaign that has been launched to raise support for the opening of the an east-west rail link between Oxford and East Anglia. The website for the campaign is based at www.eastwestpassengers.8m.com. The site is a bit basic but contains all the info and links to the all important petition on the downing street website.
