3  Journey by Journey / London to the Cotswolds / Re: Hereford - London Timetable.. on: July 27, 2009, 15:07:10
this is true as the 1915 is not a valid connection time in the fgw timetable booklet for the north costwolds.

5  Journey by Journey / London to the Cotswolds / HST stabling at Worcester on: June 26, 2008, 12:20:11
Rumours flying around, are that from the december timetable, FGW (First Great Western) will have its own stabling point at Worcester, to keep these sets:

1 x 165/166
3 x HST (High Speed Train)
2 x 158

This will be kept each night a worcester and form services next morning..
6  Journey by Journey / London to the Cotswolds / Re: 2021 PAD to WOS/Malvern (cant remember where it stops) .... a question on: June 26, 2008, 12:17:41
This Train is always a booked HST (High Speed Train), its worked by a bristol guard and driver, and worcester buffet staff, the buffet get off at worcester, guard and driver work passenger to malvern, then empties to hereford, where it stables overnight, train crew taxied back to bristol.

Next Morning

Driver Taxied from Bristol to Hereford, starts train up, takes empty stock to malvern, where guard and buffet staff get on, they are taxied to gmv, from worcester.

7  Journey by Journey / London to the Cotswolds / adelantes off lease !! on: March 07, 2008, 13:16:17
adelantes are going off lease, seen one at evesham, clean carpets, re-paint inside, logo taken off side, buffet stripped out
8  Journey by Journey / London to the Cotswolds / Re: Worcester Parkway project on: March 03, 2008, 13:53:50
As I've said before I don't agree with the Gloucester / Cheltenham parkway idea at all, because it does nothing but cater for the car. I wouldn't want to have to get the bus from there to Cheltenham, I want to get a train to Cheltenham itself...and by pulling away the XC (Cross Country Trains (franchise)) services it will have a negative impact on the town as a whole.

I do agree with the Worcester parkway idea though as Worcester's centre would still be served well by Foregate street. And I would like FGW (First Great Western)'s London HST (High Speed Train) services to go to Worcester as to provide a decent service to there and Ashchurch.

Quite agree! But the Gloucs Parkway would speed up services.

It wouldnt make the slightest bit of difference to journey times.

only 1 long distance XC train serves gloucester each day. For the exact same reason that Worcester doesnt get any XC services.

Worcester Does have XC Servcies..

Monday to Friday

0540 XC Service to Cardiff Central, Starts at Worcester Shrub Hill..
0617 XC Service to Cardiff Central, starts at Birmingham New Street at 0530

Saturday

0540 XC Service to Cardiff Central, Starts at Worcester Shrub Hill..
0617 XC Service to Cardiff Central, starts at Birmingham New Street at 0530

Sunday

0935 XC Service to Cardiff Central, Starts at Worcester Shrub Hill
1224 XC Service to Gloucester, Starts from Birmingham New Street at 1130

Return Journey

Monday to Friday

2241 XC Service Terminates from Gloucester, Forms First Service the Follwing Morning

Saturday

2154 XC Service that Terminates from Gloucester and Forms First Service on Sunday's.
2222 XC Service to Birmingham New Street, orginates from Cardiff at 2050.

Sunday

2140 XC Service that Terminates from Cardiff, and Forms First Service on Monday to Friday

So theyre you go, any one that says no XC Services call At Worcester, they acutualy do, also i have seen a 2-Car XC 170 Stabled overnight, at WOS» (Worcester Shrub Hill - next trains) Depot..

Many Thanks...

You do know how long and pointless that would actually be if you wanted to get to hereford?

Do you deffinatly run stock back that route? as it seems incredibly pointless

It wouldnt be that pointless, might be quicker than using the evesham route..
13  Sideshoots - associated subjects / Campaigns for new and improved services / Re: new Services Hereford to London via Bristol on: January 09, 2008, 12:43:52
i think that their should be a service from hereford to london paddington calling at abergavenny, bristol parkway, swindon, didcot, reading and london paddington.......... great western run back emty stock back this way, so why not have a revenue service this way ?

First Send their 1721 Padd to Hereford back to Bristol that way, and a few others not sure which ones..
14  Journey by Journey / London to the Cotswolds / Re: Great Malvern services today on: January 09, 2008, 12:37:34
