The Welsh Highland Railway leaves the Harbour station at Porthmadog, shared with the Ffestiniog, then shares the high street (A497) over the Pont Britannia before leaving the tarmac behind on the 25 mile journey to Caernarfon. A really worth while trip, I suspect permission was granted because of the recently built bypass of the town.

Thank you JayMac, whole-heartedly agree. In the case of the Baroness she was perfectly entitled to change her plans, she was assisted on to the London train at Leeds, and, in my own experience, assistance would/should have been arranged at the other end.
3  All across the Great Western territory / Fare's Fair / Re: Tube offender fined £1,800 after repeatedly using overdrawn card, TfL says on: August 25, 2024, 13:26:51
Greetings everyone. One of the long standing advantages of an Oyster (Smartcard system used by passengers on Transport for London services) card over contactless bank card is the 1/3rd discount granted to holders, like my wife, of the National Disabled Persons Railcard. TfL» (Transport for London - about) staff have always been very helpful to us when registering a renewed Railcard.
