1  Journey by Journey / London to the Cotswolds / Re: Cotswold Line - 2019 cancellation and amendments log on: September 22, 2019, 07:47:02
Well at first the report was someone was hit by a train at a crossing point near Malvern Link, a sign at Foregate street said there was a fatality. Local people in Malvern began telling stories in the shops of a man dragged along by a train and died later. That then changed and the news is no one was hit. A man was chasing his dog and the driver thought he hit him so stopped. Long knock on delays.

The 9:54 from Great Malvern, somehow blocked the line. I am guessing it failed at the turn point stuck across the points in Malvern Wells?
My WM Hereford train was unable to pass, as I was on it stuck before the signal box.
I assume it was an Hitachi? After 1 hour we trundled back to Great Malvern. Our driver did a good job
of keeping us up to date with information, and walked our part of the train, as the TM (Train Manager, or possibly Ticket Machine, depending on context) was in the 2 car
behind. (Its a pity we were released from Great Malvern before the line was cleared but I guess they
just hoped it was a computer reboot needed!)

The line blocked and causing disruption from around 9:45 to the 13:08 Paddington to Hereford running normally.
I guess a good job not Cheltenham races day.

I was going down to take a look at this new train, but it only got to Oxford.
1W14/1P25, didn't run yesterday either. Once so far.

We in Malvern have the GWR (Great Western Railway) (any of them) services lopped off, (even if they get to Worcester) so often.
It's a 'crapshoot' will they come or will they not?

4  Journey by Journey / London to the Cotswolds / Re: Cotswold Line services autumn 2017 on: December 29, 2017, 07:24:19
Just for the record, the morning 6.50 from Paddington to Gr Malvern and therefor 9.58 return from GM
which used to be class 180, I've just seen on the Slough webcam today as a 7 car HST (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units)).

And now today 2 January 2018  we have the Class 800 IET (Intercity Express Train - replacement for HSTs (manufactured by Hitachi in Kobe, Japan))

I only know what I read online or see in person.

The real reason the services previously worked by 5 car class
180 and are now not, is that the units have gone to get ready for Grand Central trains, who have been waiting for them for some time.

The IET (Intercity Express Train - replacement for HSTs (manufactured by Hitachi in Kobe, Japan)) 800's which were at one time promised for December, are now promised for January.
So I guess until they show up, this is how it will be? (HST (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units))'s also having been reduced by sending some to Scotland.)
