1  Journey by Journey / London to the Cotswolds / Re: Cotswold Line - 2018 cancellation and amendments log on: January 05, 2018, 08:24:04
It's also misleading - the delay was at Paddington, not Reading:  I was on the 1552 to Moreton - a nice empty HST (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units)) which was alongside the jam packed 1522 at Paddington and left (on time) 5 minutes after the 1522.  Small details but it does make you wonder if they are just making it all up
2  All across the Great Western territory / Fare's Fair / Re: Cotswold Line advance tickets on: December 28, 2017, 09:27:54
So - three days (sic.) before the new timetable goes into effect, advance tickets on the Cotswold line have just been released - not that you'd know it from the website -https://www.gwr.com/plan-journey/tickets-railcards-and-season-tickets/booking-tickets-in-advance.  Good luck finding any discount from the walk on fares though.  "Book early to get our best deals" it says   - but if you can't cos network rail haven't confirmed the timetable then tough luck!
3  All across the Great Western territory / Fare's Fair / Cotswold Line advance tickets on: December 09, 2017, 08:06:52
Anyone know what's happening on the Cotswold Line in the New Year?  No advanced ticket availability and this message has been on the website for the last few weeks, with the end date getting further away

*Reservations aren’t open yet on the following dates:
from Monday 1 January through to Friday 2 March 2018 for services between London and Oxford/Worcester/Hereford

When I asked GWR (Great Western Railway) they tell me its because Network Rail won't confirm the time table   Buy they're quite happy to sell full peak fares for those dates
4  Journey by Journey / London to the Cotswolds / Cathedrals express - morning on: January 14, 2017, 08:57:49
Has anyone else noticed the only advance fares offered on this service is now first class?  it doesn't matter how far in advance you book, even if on the day they release the next tranche, or from where you book.   I've contacted GWR (Great Western Railway) several times times to ask if they have consciously withdrawn all standard advance fares on this service but they haven't replied....
5  Journey by Journey / London to the Cotswolds / Re: Advance tickets on North Cotswold Line on: September 22, 2015, 14:12:20
Thanks for the comments - turns out there was a glitch in the system which meant the fares were initially set at the wrong price.  Good news is  they've offered a full refund and tickets now available for ^6.
6  Journey by Journey / London to the Cotswolds / Advance tickets on North Cotswold Line on: September 21, 2015, 18:16:18
Does anyone remember this press release, which mysteriously failed to mention the withdrawal of off peak fares from evening services from Paddington to the Cotswolds?

https://www.gwr.com/about-us/media-centre/news/2015/april/10000-seats-at-gbp10-for-north-cotswold-passengers

It read ^10,000 seats at just ^10 for North Cotswold rail passengers^  Turns out the ^10 tickets from  Kingham to Paddington were available for just six months.  Try booking an advance ticket now, and unless you're cleverer than me, the cheapest you will find event three months out is ^18.

Thank you GWR (Great Western Railway).  ^We're giving the West back its Great Western Railway^ !!
