I don't know what other people think of this rail station but I think it need some work done to it.

option 1
Ramp and maybe a Ticket machines installed and re surface platform

option 2

rebuild the station

It will be nice is they rebuild the station completely since there is space

Option 3

build a new station at Whipton Bridge

This station will be situated on the West of England Main Line

Option 4

This is selecting option 2 and 3

I was only suggestion start the rail service from Okehampton to Exeter as a regular service because the track it currently there and it be a good way of building a new rail service for people

I was wondering if a way of trying to get the line re-open from Okehampton to Exeter as a Regular service  as like stage 1 of trying to get the whole line from Exeter to Plymouth via Okehampton.

1) Okehampton to Exeter St David
2) Okehampton to Axminster
3) Okehampton to Exeter and up to Taunton  to stop at Collumpton, Tiverton and Wellington and back to Exeter and Okehampton

Maybe a Rail service from Okehampton to Axminster with a two hour service at the start.

My Mum had a  issue with the platform height on the Plymouth Side at Saltash. It Was a Class 150 Unit  I believe, She OK now but worried about getting off the train at Saltash. She is over 70. When I last got off the train at Saltash it was interesting.

I don't know if Network Rail would of said the something different if either Wales or Scotland was effect the same way, each with there own Governments.

Only if we can get all our MP (Member of Parliament) signing from the same Hymn sheet and we maybe able to have a Great Railway in the South West something that Isambard Kingdom Brunel would be please with

I am guess that a replacement Meldon Viaduct, would have to be built as the exiting Viaduct  was built by Engineer W R Galbraith for LSWR (London South Western Railway)'s Lydford-Okehampton line in 1874, the track sat 150 feet above the valley on a rising gradient of 1 in 77 towards the west, incorporating a 30 chain radius curve.

I guess it would be replaced with a concrete construction nearby

Could the Okehampton to Exeter line be part of the Devon Metro if this option was not chosen

I don't know who Tom Worsley  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-26407806.

Transport spending is a lot lower than other parts of the country per head ^212 per person in the South West Compared to ^774 in London But I could be rong here the land would be cheaper in the south west to build on.

Yes the GWR (Great Western Railway)  had run trains over the LSWR (London South Western Railway) route from Exeter to Plymouth via Okehampton but I think it was driver training or when the Dawlish line had issues. I think most of the trains went via the Teign Valley.line if the Dawlish sea wall track was out

If one of the option that doesn't go via Okehampton is chosen it should be made a priority to re-open the branch line to Okehampton to passenger traffic.

It looks like Network Rail have copyied an old Railway Atlas of the area

Option A Indland Route Via Okehampton and Tavistock (LSWR (London South Western Railway) Route)
Option B Marsh Barton to Heathfield Route (GWR (Great Western Railway) Teign Valley Line)

Dawlish Avoiding Line proposed  in 1930's by the Government of the time and GWR
Option C1 ((on coaches) National route restriction) Exminter (DAL Route)
Option C2 Powderham Castle ( DAL Route)
Option C3 Dawlish Warren  (DAL Route)
