1  Journey by Journey / TransWilts line / Re: Current Timetable on: July 06, 2015, 15:06:15
Strange that I booked a ticket to return from Paddington to Melksham on the evening of 18 July and was guided to the 2015 Cheltenham train, change Swindon, arr. Melksham 2148. This shouldn't be possible according to the timetable! Roll Eyes
2  Journey by Journey / TransWilts line / Re: Go-Op Cooperative - proposals for additional rail services (merged posts) on: October 01, 2014, 19:27:47
In view of the recent push by 10 MPs (Member of Parliament) including Duncan Hames to introduce a Bath to Bedford service - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-29430204 -would it be worth considering pushing for a link up to the Trans Wilts service? Perhaps literally, attaching/detaching the two at Chippenham using bimodal units? After all, Duncan Hames has been heavily involved with the Trans Wilts too.

Thanks to all for your responses. Clearly it's mostly wait and see! I do note that some trains between Paddington and the Southwest run via Swindon & Westbury  on those Sundays - I don't know about other weeks - so these take some of the paths.

Having just looked through the May to December 2014 National Rail timetables I must admit to being a little concerned that from 26 October -7 December Sunday trains are reduced to four each way on the TransWiltis. I hope that this is not a statement of intent for the future by FGW (First Great Western). Could it be a temporary change because of electrification? Undecided
