Title: Entire service on a line in a single tweet?
Post by: grahame on December 11, 2011, 08:14:49
It struck me that I can describe the whole TransWilts service in a single tweet:

From Swindon 06:12&18:44(M-F), 15:22&21:08(Sat), 18:19(Sun), From Westbury 07:04&19:32(M-F), 09:05&15:06(Sat), 17:10&19:35(Sun)  #fgw

Not necessarily a bad thing ...

From Swindon and Salisbury daily at 05:00 (NSu), 06:00, every 2 hours to 22:00. Also at 07:00(M-F), 09:00, 17:00, and 19:00. #fgw #dream #works

... which shows a clockface service that's got beauty in its simplicity, memorabiity, and that's powerful marketing.

Any other FGW services that are tweetable - due to minimalism or regularity?

Not tweetable but honest:

Melksham trains to Swindon Monday to Friday 07:20 and back again at 19:11, & that's it #nexttouseless

And not FGW but F:

Melksham to Bath by bus, two in five minutes then nothing for another hour #rubbish

I would have said the same about Frome with Buses. But a few months ago, First changed there timings from 31 minutes past the hour to 49 minutes past the hour. Which on the face of it, is pretty helpful as we know have a bus service to Bath every 30ish minutes.

However, the Faresaver lot have chucked in a couple of other workings at 41 minutes past the hour as well! So at some times during the day, we get a bus about every 20 minutes ;D

Wanstrow on the other hand...

One Bus on a Wednesday Morning... Miss it and it's only a 72 hour wait till the next one!! #busfail

Very clever - me thinks it must be a low (railway) news day :)

Wouldn't it be lovely to look forward to a time when all information needed was easily to hand, everyone agreed on everything and there was no need for a forum like this.   Ironically, the Coffee Shop was set up as something of a reaction to major rail issues on FGW, and it would be excellent news if everything was sorted and we didn't need to be around any more.

As a major offender in the "cows on the line in south Wales " thread I certainly don't really claim to be the guardian of good judgement!
