Whilst on the suject of Welsh railways. Has anyone caught up with the 4 programmes broadcast on BBC 2 Wales at 730pm on Tuesdays ? Living in Portishead I get my Freeview from Wenvoe. Called Beating Beeching' they feature footage never seen before on TV.Unusually The earlier programmes are ALL available on i player. A browser search for Beating Beeching will bring them up. Title: Re: Herd of cows stops the trains between Newport and Cardiff Post by: Chris from Nailsea on December 08, 2011, 20:41:35 Think we may be struggling now - time to put this thread out to graze? We'll be chewing the cud until the cows come home, you mean? :P Title: Re: Herd of cows stops the trains between Newport and Cardiff Post by: bigdaz on December 08, 2011, 20:55:32 So were pax travelling on friesion passes? Did pax on the Hereford line get held up? I think with all talk on this issue, nothing can be black and white.
Title: Re: Herd of cows stops the trains between Newport and Cardiff Post by: Chris from Nailsea on December 08, 2011, 20:59:22 Before we reveal too much, time to steer the discussion back on topic, maybe? :-\
Title: Re: Herd of cows stops the trains between Newport and Cardiff Post by: BerkshireBugsy on December 09, 2011, 05:32:16 I think the chance of getting any more decent puns out of this thread are medium to rare
According to the sheep in the field next to the cows they said "ewe should be ashamed of all these puns - this thread should be flocked! Title: Re: Herd of cows stops the trains between Newport and Cardiff Post by: Mookiemoo on December 09, 2011, 09:24:03 Well I was affected by the cows!!!!!! Had to be fetched from parkway not meads!

Title: Re: Herd of cows stops the trains between Newport and Cardiff Post by: chuffed on December 09, 2011, 11:06:13 Hopefully the bats and great crested newts won't derail Chilterns Evergreen 3 project.
Hope Justin doesnt live up to her name and that Chiltern and Nature England sort it out by the Dec 13th deadline Title: Re: Herd of cows stops the trains between Newport and Cardiff Post by: JayMac on December 09, 2011, 11:11:19 Hope Justin doesnt live up to her name Being my given Christian name..... huh? ??? Title: Re: Herd of cows stops the trains between Newport and Cardiff Post by: grahame on December 09, 2011, 11:24:41 Hope Justin doesnt live up to her name Being my given Christian name..... huh? ??? Justine Greening, I suspect ... who is Just In as the Minister of Transport in the last couple of months. Title: Re: Herd of cows stops the trains between Newport and Cardiff Post by: chuffed on December 09, 2011, 11:57:56 Mea culpa .... male chauvinist that i am forgot that it's Justin male and Justine female.
Grahame you were exactly right in spotting 'Greening' ...and I hope you noticed that i I remembered the e on the end of your Christian your name ...with apologies to all the Justins/Justines among us ....! Title: Re: Herd of cows stops the trains between Newport and Cardiff Post by: grahame on December 09, 2011, 12:15:59 Ah ... my name on the forum doesn't actually follow the same approach. To help newcomers ... this is me ...
(http://www.wellho.net/pix/lhs9_w.jpg) Photo actually taken to show that dying breed - a table in a train. The "E" in on the end of my forum name is the first letter of my surname to tell me apart from all the other "Graham"s who are around on other forums - it's a name I use elsewhere as well as here. I'm really not fussed whether I'm referred to with or without the "e" By the way, other moderators and admins are introduced at http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/coffeeshop/index.php?topic=1780.0 . Title: Re: Herd of cows stops the trains between Newport and Cardiff Post by: Pedros on December 09, 2011, 12:39:46 Hmmm ... I can trace delays due to lion, sheep, cows, horses, puma, badger and deer. Have I missed any? I was once held up on an HST approaching Reading by a pigeon that had flown through an open window, as the train was moving, and was in the vestibule between First Class carriages. We'd come to a halt anyway (we were approaching Reading after all...) and they'd obviously decided to get rid of the fare-dodger before pulling into the station. TM announced the reason for the extended pause with a tone to his voice that was somewhere between sheer annoyance and mild humour. I was about to post the lyrics of the classics of the classic on the forum but realised it may infringe copyright :) This page is printed from the "Coffee Shop" forum at http://gwr.passenger.chat which is provided by a customer of Great Western Railway.
