Title: New train orders/Tories destined to repeat mistakes of the past?
Post by: woody on November 08, 2011, 19:21:15
Railway eye -the railway blog says that on the 28th December it will be a 1,000 days since the placing of the last new train order.http://railwayeye.blogspot.com/2011/11/tories-destined-to-repeat-mistakes-of.html
Interestly it says "the IEP is reported to be neck and neck with Thameslink. Make of that what you will, but East Coast and Great Western are already devoting time and effort to looking at 'credible' alternatives."hmmmm

Odd that they seem a bit worried about Siemens being responsible for Thameslink train service provision, but I don't think the basic set up of the deal, ie Siemens building dedicated depots and doing all the major maintenance, is any different to the contracts they already have with SWT, LM and TPE?
