From the Wiltshire Times (http://www.wiltshiretimes.co.uk/news/latestheadlines/9343445.Bradford_on_Avon_rail_station__petition_in_final_phase/):

Quote
Bradford on Avon^s petition to save the town^s train station ticket office was being presented to MP Duncan Hames today, prior to his raising of the issue in the House of Commons.

The petition, which was started last month after the ticket office was one of 675 in England and Wales recommended for closure in a Government report by Sir Roy McNulty, now has about 1,200 signatures.

Town councillor John Potter, who has spearheaded the campaign to keep the ticket office open, has said he would like to get another 500 people supporting the petition before handing it over to Mr Hames.

The MP plans to present the document to Transport Minister Theresa Villiers.

Cllr Potter said: ^It would be great to get a few hundred more signatures, as we only have one shot at this and we need to get it right.^

Once the petition has been completed, Cllr Potter will be canvassing local businesses for letters of support to keep the ticket office open.

To sign the petition, visit the town council offices next to St Margaret^s Hall.
