Title: Harder, and a bit different Post by: grahame on October 21, 2011, 20:21:09 A little harder ... spurred on by the hypothysis that we have members who can recongise any train or bus at distance, I've put together some of the photos from my collection.
(http://www.wellho.net/pix/harder_1.jpg) (http://www.wellho.net/pix/harder_2.jpg) (http://www.wellho.net/pix/harder_3.jpg) (http://www.wellho.net/pix/harder_4.jpg) (http://www.wellho.net/pix/harder_5.jpg) (http://www.wellho.net/pix/harder_6.jpg) Different "rules" this time. Please guess AT LEAST three (up to all six) each and I'll just tell you how many of your group you have right. Title: Re: Harder, and a bit different Post by: thetrout on October 21, 2011, 20:34:33 Bottom Left, I'd day thats a siding at Castle Cary??
Top Left - Longleat Railway...? Centre Right, That one is bugging me but it looks suspiciously like Yeovil Pen Mill? At least CfN doesn't have to worry... None of them like... Well... You know... ;D *edit* correction of appalling typo ;) Title: Re: Harder, and a bit different Post by: JayMac on October 21, 2011, 20:35:19 3. MkIV VW Golf Estate.
4. Harris Tweed. 6. The No. 24 Bus. Am I close? ;) :D Title: Re: Harder, and a bit different Post by: Chris from Nailsea on October 21, 2011, 20:37:54 The only one I had a 'scooby doo' about was centre right: I agree, I reckon it's Yeovil Pen Mill. :-\
Title: Re: Harder, and a bit different Post by: grahame on October 21, 2011, 20:47:59 The Trout has one right ...
Bignosemac hasn't actually told me where any are ... or was he suggesting the Isle of Harris? CfN only gave one answer not the minimum 3 ;) "Fun" bunch, aren't they? Title: Re: Harder, and a bit different Post by: inspector_blakey on October 21, 2011, 20:53:26 OK then, I'm going for...
top left: Salthouse Field, Clevedon top right: somewhere in Berlin... centre right: Yeovil Pen Mill Title: Re: Harder, and a bit different Post by: Chris from Nailsea on October 21, 2011, 21:03:59 Fair enough. ::)
Top left: Salthouse Field, Clevedon Centre right: Yeovil Pen Mill Bottom left: Portishead line Title: Re: Harder, and a bit different Post by: grahame on October 21, 2011, 21:11:49 One right each ... there are some quite tricky ones in there.
Title: Re: Harder, and a bit different Post by: JayMac on October 21, 2011, 21:22:42 1. Lodmoor Country Park, Weymouth
2. Dutch Sprinter (NS Sprinter Lighttrain). Hoek van Holland Haven Station. Possibly at dawn after an overnight ferry from Harwich. ;) 4. Yeovil Pen Mill 6. Lothian Bus. Edinburgh Edited to add a 4th answer for No. 2. Title: Re: Harder, and a bit different Post by: Chris from Nailsea on October 21, 2011, 21:25:35 Fair enough, again. :P
I'm not convinced that the top left picture is actually Salthouse Fields, Clevedon - commendable little railway though that is. And, sorry, thetrout, but I don't reckon it's Longleat, either. I am, however, now convinced that centre right is Yeovil Pen Mill - and all three of us have now been given 'one correct answer' where that was suggested. My third suggestion, of the Portishead line, was a deliberate ploy: in the spirit of 'Cluedo', by a process of elimination, I reckon we've at last managed to identify just one of grahame's pictures. This could be a long night ... :o Title: Re: Harder, and a bit different Post by: grahame on October 22, 2011, 02:45:12 Bignosemac has 3 out of 4 correct; CfN has purely supplied a narrative, so no comment from me ;)
Title: Re: Harder, and a bit different Post by: grahame on October 23, 2011, 12:48:26 OK .. solution time.
Weymouth - Hoek Van Holland Lisbon - Yeovil Radstock - Belfast Title: Re: Harder, and a bit different Post by: thetrout on October 24, 2011, 02:03:26 Radstock >:( >:( >:( I bluddy knew that's what it would turn out to be! However because I must have been in LaLa land (again!! ::) :o ;D ) If i'd have thought about it, if you had taken that picture at Castle Cary (Which it does look very similar!) you would have definately been stood on the Down Line!! eek!
