Title: New Transport Secretary following Phillip Hammond's move to Defence. Post by: JayMac on October 14, 2011, 18:26:21 Following Liam Fox's resignation as Secretary of State for Defence, Phillip Hammond will replace him.
The new Secretary of State for Transport is to be Justine Greening (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Justine_Greening), MP for Putney, Roehampton and Southfields. Why would a new SoS mean cancelling IEP?. Haven't Hitachi already been awarded the rolling stock contract? Isn't preparatory work on the OHLE already underway? When she hears that he has reached his destination well ahead of schedule she sees the points change and hope once more she will get the chance to queen it over the main line. But wait ! Who's this ?
