Title: Chaos 06/11/2007
Post by: martyjon on November 07, 2007, 07:12:35
06/11/2007.

Chaos reigned on the line between Bath and Westbury on the evening of the above from 1900 until the end of services on same.

At about 1900 the RHTT (Rail Head Treatment Train) was involved in a fatality at Freshford. All services were suspended between Westbury and Bath in both directions whilst the authorities dealt with this incident.

FGW pulled out all stops and stopped all London trains at both Oldfield Park and Keynsham as well as providing road replacement transport between Westbury and Bath.

Another fatality this morning between Fareham and Portsmouth Harbour. No trains running again. Road transport in operation between Portsmouth Harbour and Southampton Central.

Nah, don't think so. None of the screens I've looked at can confirm this, must be a hangover from last nights, units being out of place.

It was the 6:10 and 6:50 off Portsmouth that got affected according to FGW service updates.

I'm sick of these selfish b******s throwing themselves under trains. I vote that services carry on in future and we scrape them up at night after services stop running.

Yeh, saw that but no other screens were reporting a fatality and I was merely suggesting that it was an overhang from the previous nights incident at Freshford and the units being out of place.

Could have been. But it was defianatly due to a fatality. If it was the night befores its even worse that it took so long to sort out.

Yeh, I saw all that and the report of a fatality. The previous nights fataility at Freshford put everything on stop between Bath and Westbury with units being run to Bristol that should have normally been stabled at Westbury for the start of services the next day. To get them in place they probably ran units ECS to Southampton to start running from there. Also neither SWT, Southern or National Rail were reporting a fatality on the morning in question.

Mada - understand the frustration, just modified one of the words in your post a little  ;)

Sorry! I assumed that the word filters would have been set up in the admin panel in order to censor where necessary ;)
