Title: Sad face: Lost laptop bag and laptop etc on a Padd to Taunton train
Post by: neilbolton on August 31, 2011, 12:03:18
Dear all,

Great to see such a helpful site - loads of useful stuff!

My situation is this: I was travelling on the 1730 Paddington to Taunton train on 26th of August - last friday, and got off at Temple Meads.

A horrible creeping painful realisation came over me when I realised I'd left my works laptop bag and laptop on the luggage rail over my seat. It contained a new Dell laptop, a couple of mice, a USB drive - and notebook, some papers and a EVO magazine. Immediate calls to the FGW lost property number showed that they knocked off early on the Friday.

However, I've now realised that the number is a bit useless - not really linked up to Bristol and certainly not Paddington.

I went down to the Temple Meads lost property office this morning and they have not received anything yet from Taunton and the chap wasn't really that helpful - I appreciate they get lots of people in!

My question is this: How long does it usually take for stuff to filter back, and is there a direct number that I can call the Taunton station manager on in order to explain the situation - you can appreciate why I might be keen to get this laptop and bag etc back!!!

Many Thanks

Neil

This sounds awful - have you tried FGW customer services?  They may be able to speak to Taunton direct

Yup, that's the way I'd go.

Hi Neil

Did you ever get your laptop back?
