Title: Lowest Fares Post by: bobm on June 09, 2011, 12:03:45 Is there a way of finding the lowest possible fare between two places? I seem to spend a lot of time on the FGW site changing times etc to see if I can get a lower price but I never know if I have found the lowest possible.
I realise even with the details of the lowest possible I will still have to change times etc to find it but at least I will know when I've found it that I won't be out trumped. Title: Re: Lowest Fares Post by: Brucey on June 09, 2011, 12:46:11 Buy (ahem) a copy of the National Fares Manual for about ^10. It is a program for your computer that contains almost every possible fare available.
It is useful in several ways: 1. allows you to see what advance fares could be available 2. shows you walk-up fares 3. as it is offline, its really quick to try out different combinations of stations Although it can be very difficult to understand if you aren't familiar with some of the terminology used. Alternatively, post your dilemma here and I'm sure someone will have a trick up their sleeve! I'd bore you all rigid with queries. I'll search out the Manual.
