Title: Rail through the Hills - Worcester to Hereford 150 Post by: willc on May 02, 2011, 12:08:45 An illustrated talk by John Boynton about the Worcester to Hereford line which opened as a through route in December 1861 with the completion of Ledbury viaduct. The talk is at Christ Church, Great Malvern, adjacent to the station, on Friday, July 1, at 7.30pm.
Being held as part of Malvern's Civic Week, during which the CLPG will have a display at Great Malvern station. It is also planned that one of the area's more unusual listed buildings will be open to the public - the 'Worm' a covered passage from the station to what used to be a hotel - since turned into a school - to move luggage to or from the station. See Malvern Civic Society's website for more details. The Worm is described in an entry at the bottom of the news page. http://www.malverncivicsociety.org.uk/events_week.htm This page is printed from the "Coffee Shop" forum at http://gwr.passenger.chat which is provided by a customer of Great Western Railway.
