Title: Upper quadrant at Yeovil Pen Mill. That's just wrong!
Post by: JayMac on April 08, 2011, 20:24:36
I took this photo a couple of months back at Yeovil Pen Mill of the Down Main Starter (YPM 61) and Down Yeovil Junction Starter (YPM 60) for reversing moves from the Up platform.

I didn't notice at the time (because both signals were 'on') that it's upper quadrant. Looking again at the picture the position of the lenses is the giveaway that it's UQ. It looked a fairly new installation and that is confirmed by pictures I've found elsewhere of the former YPM 60 and YPM 61 (http://www.roscalen.com/signals/Yeovil/index.htm).

Upper quadrant deep in Great Western land? Sacrilege!!!

Looks like our 'one size fits all' Network Rail only now have UQs in stock.

At least Network Rail are maintaining some heritage links it would have been simpler to install colour light
