Title: Plans proposed to solve Taplow train station parking issues Post by: Chris from Nailsea on March 09, 2011, 18:32:53 From the Maidenhead Advertiser (http://www.maidenhead-advertiser.co.uk/news/article-20216-plans-proposed-to-solve-taplow-train-station-parking-issues/):
Quote Proposals to help solve parking problems at Taplow train station have been put forward to the railway authorities. Representatives from Bucks County Council, South Bucks District Council, Taplow Parish Council and First Great Western met on January 19 to discuss congestion and safety concerns in Station Road, Institute Road and Approach Road. A report has now been issued to First Great Western with suggested solutions and estimated costs. The report suggests improvements to the station car park, including a possible expansion to increase capacity. It also highlights the need for double yellow lines and waiting restrictions on local streets. Access to the station is also considered, with safer routes for cyclists and walkers advised. A response from First Great Western is expected within two weeks, and a consultation with residents, businesses and station users will be held if plans proceed. The cost of parking at the station is another issue authorities have discussed. "I'm aware there are concerns about the cost of parking at the station and it's something I've raised with First Great Western," said Mr Stevens. "We had a very positive meeting and First Great Western made it clear they wanted to work with us in finding an appropriate solution."
