Title: 24hrs on the Berks & Hants? Post by: bobm on February 24, 2011, 10:52:33 Just wondered are the crossing boxes at Colthrop and Kintbury staffed 24 hours a day? I know there's quite a lot of freight about and the West of England sleepers usually go that way but is there enough traffic to warrant staff being at the two boxes all night?

Yes, but scheme in hand to transfer them to TVSC within the next couple of years. Title: Re: 24hrs on the Berks & Hants? Post by: bobm on May 19, 2011, 22:35:34 The latest issue of Rail says the crossing boxes at Kintbury and Colthrop will be made redundant "by further modernisation of the Berks & Hants line". Is there now a timetable for it or is it still on the to do list?
