What time of day?  If I remember right, arriving at Waterloo (East) on platforms A through D between 4:30 and 6 p.m. used to be a battle against a tide of outgoing commuters.   Are you suggesting that 20 minutes is too short, or too long?  ;)

I agree with Graham's comments from when I used to do the same thing.. It really does depend on how busy it is... I guess they have to quote the worst case scenario or people would complain?  :)

ok, point taken - was trying to get from charing cross to hampton wick at 1300 today - it was allowing 20 mins

I checked TFL and it allowed 7

Took me abut 4

Just thought it seemed a VERY long time
