Title: Monday 17/1/11 Post by: johoare on January 17, 2011, 07:34:05 From FGW site..
Quote line problem between London Paddington and Slough. Train services between London Paddington and Slough are being disrupted due to signalling problems.Engineers are working as fast as possible to restore services to normal. Short notice alterations, cancellations and delays of up to 30 minutes can be expected. My trains already been cancelled.. I'm just wondering quite how late I'm going to get to work today.. Title: Re: Monday 17/1/11 Post by: BBM on January 17, 2011, 09:28:38 I got my usual 07:03 from Twyford which runs all the way to PAD on the Up Relief so when it arrived at Maidenhead and I saw that the delayed 07:08 HST was about to arrive on platform 2 I went over through the subway to catch that. At Dolphin Junction the HST crossed over to the Up Relief and crawled to just east of Iver where it stopped for about 10 minutes and the TM announced that there was a lineside equipment failure. Eventually we reached just east of Hayes where an HST overtook us on the Up Main so I thought we'd get switched across but no, we continued to crawl along the Up Relief to PAD where arrival was at about 08:20, some 50 minutes late.
On arrival at PAD I noticed that all trains on the two pages of the Departure screen were shown as 'delayed' and arrivals were about 30-60 minutes late. :( Title: Re: Monday 17/1/11 Post by: IndustryInsider on January 17, 2011, 16:12:29 Yup, another painful morning. 'Signalling problems' on the main lines, and a Track Circuit Failure on the Up Relief at Southall West Junction where the Up Goods Loop joins the Up Relief. As those points were replaced at the weekend I'm sure therein lies the reason.
Not helped at all by the fact that yet again all of the CIS screens between Reading and Paddington (bar Slough) had once again all failed and were busy displaying trains that had long since gone about 6am. General confusion all round. This is getting silly! Title: Re: Monday 17/1/11 Post by: johoare on January 17, 2011, 20:17:21 I got to work 45 minutes late >:(
