Title: Spell checking needed ... Post by: grahame on December 07, 2010, 04:20:08 A bit of an OCR failure from an old document, but I found some of the words it substituted (Fireman Larynx, the Renoir coach ...) a little bit amusing. Can you identify the event and the document?

I like the "25-ton brutalise gnu".
Looks like Thingley Junction 1907, http://www.railwaysarchive.co.uk/eventsummary.php?eventID=1338 (http://www.railwaysarchive.co.uk/eventsummary.php?eventID=1338) My spellchecker never used to like the idea of Heanor in Derbyshire. Being essentially American, it thought this was probably "Hanoi". Title: Re: Spell checking needed ... Post by: eightf48544 on December 07, 2010, 08:55:02 Very interesting. Even with the very odd spellings you can still see how succinct those old accident reports were. There's everything you need to know about Thingley Junction it's situation, approaches, signals etc. in a couple of paragraphs.
