Title: Highest fare increase challenge.
Post by: SDS on December 07, 2010, 00:39:50
Heres a challenge for you all!

Find the highest ticket price increase.
The Catches....
Can only be on FGW land (i.e. where FGW normally serves, so excludes diversions).
Can only be a walkup ticket.
Can be either a Single or Return (not a season or those exec package thingies).

My guess:
SHIREHAMPTON 3206 - LONDON TERMINALS 1072 (with thanks to BNM)
NFM 7: SDS      S   28.20
NFM 8: SDS      S   30.80
increase of 9.22% (rounded).

I make that 9.22% rounded. 30.80-28.20/28.20x100 :P

Swindon to Salisbury is up from 50 pounds anytime single to 53 pounds (anytime single, cheapest ticket on the direct 06:15 train).   Percentagewise, that's 6% ... in pence per mile it's a stunning extra 7p per mile.

Any examples of fare rises of over 7p / mile?
