Yet another typo/spelling mistake, this time at Redland.

Despite having used the station for two years, I've never looked at the map on the wall (next to our Help Point, or what remains of it):

Hmm... apart from the smelling pistake, why is 'Police station' the only location to have a second name without a capital letter?

Do Avon & Somerset not deserve a capital 'S'?  ;) ;D


And where is Montpelier's coming from? Montpellier, France perhaps?

I don't think they are actually produced by FGW. Twyford has a similar thing, will have a look tomorrow see who does them.

The map on the one at Kingham contains very little information. Best described as empty.

Well done Brucey for spotting it! It took me a long time to see, but then as you know from my posts "Proof Reading" is not one of my skills.

Whilst spell checkers are useful they don't help when you type "form" for "from" and many other word pairs, although Word pick this one up when I came to check it.

I think every company to sack one "bean counter" and employ a skilled proof reader instead.

Seeing the subject of this thread, I thought about what we could give FGW for Christmas.   

I came up with a couple of secondhand, and slightly dirty class 153 units, formerly on lease to a train company in the north or east, that are looking for a good home.   Each of the units comes with a message "love from Santa", an inscription "to run in Passenger service between Swindon and Frome / Salisbury only" and a support token jointly from the Dft and Wiltshire Council, promising to assist with any unexpected shortfall in revenue as they run for the next three years.

The map crops the centre, which is north of the cathedral (big blue building on map)...

First buses in Bath have been displaying a new range of safety posters.  One of them says something like "wait until the bus has stopped before using the stairs"  It was posted up on loads of buses but every one I saw was on a single decker.  The double deckers had "mind the gap between the bus and the kerb"

First Hampshire Bus need a grammar checker too.  As an ex-South Downs College student, I'm pretty sure you don't spell it Southdown's College and I'm pretty sure the college doesn't belong to Southdown.

They also need a spell checker - I'm not quite sure where Gunwarf Quays is located?
