Title: Hammond and the new carriages Post by: caliwag on November 26, 2010, 16:56:50 I know I know, it sounds like a new kids cartoon series for young gricers.
But no...on another thread, someone posted a link to his interview yesterday, perhaps a BBC Lynchtime news prog...(don't have a telly! gasp!) and during the "grilling" interview in response to a question he stated that "indeed some carriages will be delivered early next year!" err that's good going, but hang on , they must be from an order by a previous administration...so that's a bit cheeky. Sadly the young Lady didn't pick him up on this, not being a FGW CS follower perhaps...or maybe thinking that, well of course there are train building plants all round the country knocking out carriages as a hobby, or a local council employment initiative: endearing image. "hello (for it is DaFT Twit) is that York carriage works?" "Who wants to knaw like?" " this is er, um er, look,it's important can you provide some nice trains please-ideally blue...we can stick the Airfix bits on later?" "Well we only repair rail adhes..." "NoNo you misunderstand Johnny, we need some bright shiny trains, PDQ, there for commuters you know...some of chaps up there must commute to London surely, I mean your below all those hills up there aren't you" Johnny (Matey to his mates of course)..."Sid (Matey to HIS mates), have we got any trains out t'back?"...mumbling and sounds of agreement..."aye, we could put something together for you, we have got some yellow underframes, bogies mind, none of your 142 stuff tha noz (apologies here to all 142 afficiandos, quite like em mesen) we could sort you out there, paint em black like...tell you what get the paperwork together and we'll manage, tak a bit time mind...Blue did you say?" I say that's marvellous, Hammo and the Today programme will be so pleased, we'll collect in ten weeks...bye Title: Re: Hammond and the new carriages Post by: Chris from Nailsea on November 26, 2010, 20:41:49 ... on another thread, someone posted a link to his interview yesterday ...
