Post by: Mookiemoo on November 14, 2010, 00:59:37
I dont have an advance so will do the weekend first but I want to avoid a rugby scrum

Time is not an issue

The first Exeter to Barnstaple train is probably quite lightly loaded. Shouldn't be any rugby fans on that.

My next comment will be; where are you going...

Total lottery. All likely to be busier than normal as the usual Bristol TM starters are starting back at Swansea. The line is closed between Swindon and Didcot and the HSTs are diverting after Bath.

So you've got all the South Wales pax, plus some from Bristol Parkway on board before the services reach Temple Meads.

1600, 1700 and 1900 services.  All these start at Bristol so should be quieter.  At least you should get a choice of seat.  All the others come from Swansea except the 1800 which comes from Paignton

WellI chose the wrong train.  This was the scene after Reading but we did have standing after bath!  Even in first class.

At least the TM (after prompting by me) did come through and stiff everyone after bath for the weekend first upgrade (I got done between parkway and temple meads when it was relatively empty) however he abandoned all hope after reading

But no official declassification so yet again, not likely to get me money back!

*note - would love to post pic but even down at least size I can't get it below 192kb*

Have you ever tried the online image optimisers, I've always used this one to good effect.

yes - thats it

So thats after reading but we did have standees all the way from bath - but they were chinged for the difference

From reading on wards it was that bad

Will I get even a partial refund - will I heck

Whilst they have the line closed and only swansea services conveying bristol traffic on sundays - why not just suspend first class cos thats what happens effectively anyway

You appear to have been sat down, so why the need for refund?

Think that says it all

yes I did have a seat only because I drove to parkway first

had I relied on temple meads - would have been a scrum

do you really think that is acceptable?

I think combining the ex Bristol and ex Swanseas on Sundays when the line is closed between Swindon-Didcot is not a good idea after lunchtime.

Just for future reference, the 1800 from Bristol is fine, (~1745 Nailsea) plenty of seats in First yesterday, and plenty in Standard. Most seats in standard taken by Bristol.

Don't travel from Taunton - 1826 yesterday was full and standing through First Class and was a 2+7 set. Cosy.
