Thanks for all the help :) Title: Re: Advance Tickets for 29th Post by: JayMac on October 21, 2010, 09:51:58 There are some ^11 Advance fares available Newport - Paddington for the 29th December. Hourly departures from 1036 at xx36 all currently showing as ^11 for that date. Train is direct but via Oxford, reverse at Banbury thence to Paddington via Chiltern Main Line and the little used New North Main Line. 3h31m from Newport to Paddington.
Add to that ^10.50 for a Worcester SH - Bristol Temple Meads Off Peak Day Single (valid via the Marches Line and for joining/alighting short). Cheaper than a Hereford - Newport Single at ^14.00 Total ^21.50, and can be done with a 12 minute connection at Newport. Which I believe compares favourably with the coach fares and timings from Hereford.
