Quote The great, great, grandson of Isambard Kingdom Brunel performed a naming ceremony on a locomotive to mark 175 years of the Great Western Railway on Wednesday. The ceremony took place at Paddington station in London when power car 43175 was officially named GWR 175 Anniversary by Lord Miles Gladwyn. The ceremony was organised by First Great Western Trains, the Friends of Swindon Railway Museum, Network Rail and the Steam museum. Also joining the mayor were former employees of GWR and British Rail, Steam volunteers and the staff at the museum. Councillor Bartlett was then presented with a replica nameplate. She was leading 1J99 Taunton-Paddington.
