Title: getting to Chepstow Post by: jakemonkfish on September 30, 2010, 10:27:29 I'm confused - why is an anytime single at ^22.05 ( me and small person) from Weston to Chepstow @ 07.37 & 08.39 on 27/11/10 cheaper than the off peak fare of ^33.05 shown at 09.10 & 10.10. I presume any anytime ticket would be valid on the later routes unless the missing fact is that these take you to Cheltenham then south to chepstow, whilst the cheaper option is via the seemingly more sensible Severn Ttunnel Junction/newport route
Title: Re: getting to Chepstow Post by: JayMac on September 30, 2010, 13:26:01 I'm guessing you are using National Rail Enquiries for the fares information. The ^33.05 quoted is for a combination of two tickets. There is no single ticket fare for the journey if travelling via Cheltenham.
What time do you want to be in Chepstow? And are you returning by train the same day or later or is it just a single journey? If you let me know this info there is a good chance I can save you a bit of money using split fares.
