Title: bristol city new stadium
Post by: dog box on September 19, 2010, 10:59:00
What with all of the recent news about this...wondered why a part reopening of the Portishead Line or spur to serve this development was not considered.
I havent looked at the plans etc and only know the rough area being considered but seeing that Bristol are now going on about missing out on world cup games etc surely a rail link to it would be an advantage and possibly appease the locals who dont want hoards of fans passing there homes..any thoughts

Didnt the planning application for the stadium get rejected or something even though the planning officers said it should go ahead?

Sadly  there is now a proposal to mark the site as a town green according to this article from the Bristol evening post:

Edited to remove the massive gap in the post. bnm
