Title: Is it a first? Post by: Mookiemoo on September 10, 2010, 15:19:21 Every time today vie checked the site there has been no delays, catering changes, short working, cancellations or missing stops
Is Grahame feed still working or is this the first day everything in fgw land is running as planned Title: Re: Is it a first? Post by: brompton rail on September 10, 2010, 15:28:53 Journey check only has 2 alterations, the same Cardiff / Portsmouth out and back working, that is short formed - 2 car instead of 3, and no delays, catering problems, no Turbo substitute for HST ...... Nothing!!
Wow! Title: Re: Is it a first? Post by: inspector_blakey on September 10, 2010, 16:57:13 I've occasionally spotted that at 2000 or 2100 in the evening here (no alterations at all showing) and was impressed until I realized that it was 0100 - 0200 in Blighty and so there was almost nothing actually running!
Title: Re: Is it a first? Post by: Mookiemoo on September 10, 2010, 17:34:25 yeah - but this has been since 0900 BST
Title: Re: Is it a first? Post by: JayMac on September 10, 2010, 23:54:35 Looks indeed like FGW have had a remarkably good day. The worst I can find has been the aforementioned short forming, with the same again this evening on a service to/from Weston-super-Mare.
Title: Re: Is it a first? Post by: grahame on September 11, 2010, 07:30:48 Every time today vie checked the site there has been no delays, catering changes, short working, cancellations or missing stops Is Grahame feed still working or is this the first day everything in fgw land is running as planned It is almost a first - it's the a) I have put a banner across the graphic to warn people it's not current b) I'll be having a look at and fixing the issue if I can over the next 36 hours. As a bit of background, this graphic is derived from an experiment that was originally intended for short term use some three years ago - it had an expected life of a few days and has outlived what was expected of it hundreds of times over. So I'm not entirely sure what I'll find / where the linkage has broken and how easy it will be to fix; item (b) is a promise to look and a hope (and there's a very good possibility!) to get it back. Title: Re: Is it a first? Post by: grahame on September 11, 2010, 17:34:14 OK ... I have a clue as to the problem. Not totally in my control but I may have a workaround that I'm experimenting with. There's a maintainance "flash" across the image just for the moment as I'm still testing. If you see stuff there, it's probably right. If there's nothing there, then it's probable that my test failed.
Title: Re: Is it a first? Post by: grahame on September 12, 2010, 21:29:36 OK ... one of the cogs in this mechanism is a shared server on which we have some space - and the issue is on there, relating to other users on the system (always good to blame someone else ;) ). As I've no control over the machine as a whole, I've added a patch to work around it but I'm not sure how long it will hold; if the problem recurrs, I'll look at rehosting this cog onto a machine which we have better control over.
