Title: Ollie's Day Out (All Answered) Post by: Ollie on August 09, 2010, 23:45:02 Went for a bit of a small tour around the network, who can spot where I have been (sometimes pic is taken from a train and I've not physically got off at the stop)
So I started my trip at Picture 1. (Reading - Correctly guessed by FallenAngel) After getting a train, and a bit of a walk got to Picture 2. (Bristol Harbour Railway - Correctly guessed by chriselkins) Walked to a train station and got another train to Picture 3. (Nailsea & Backwell - Correctly guessed by TheLastMinute) After taking Picture 3 got on a train which went through Picture 4. (Stapleton Road - Correctly guessed by Tim) Continued in next post... Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out Post by: Ollie on August 09, 2010, 23:49:47 so to continue...
My train terminated at Picture 5. (Bristol Parkway - Correctly guessed by Tim - but bonus points to TheLastMinute for getting more specific) I got another train from Picture 5, and changed trains again to get onto the train that took me through Picture 6. (Melksham - Correctly guessed by Louis94) My train terminated at Picture 7. (Southampton Central - Correctly guessed by FallenAngel) And then waiting at Picture 7 it all went a bit wrong (Picture 8!) (Southampton Central - Correctly guessed by FallenAngel) and then my phone ran out of battery :( Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out Post by: JayMac on August 09, 2010, 23:53:52 Um... what pictures?

Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out Post by: JayMac on August 10, 2010, 00:07:07 Nope, nothing here. Can't even see images embedded in the text when I hit 'Quote'.
Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out Post by: Ollie on August 10, 2010, 00:09:06 Glad they work and not just me going mental :P Images not embedded, done using the forum uploader.
Just to add some random facts, today: I have travelled: 267miles 39chains, for: 5hrs 15mins, at an average speed of: 51mph Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out Post by: Chris from Nailsea on August 10, 2010, 00:11:52 ... another random fact: so far as I can tell, none of them are Taunton ... ::) ;D
Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out Post by: Ollie on August 10, 2010, 00:12:38 That would be correct :P
Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out Post by: JayMac on August 10, 2010, 00:14:28 Something to do with the uploader, I guess.
I've tried three different browsers and 2 OS, with no joy. Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out Post by: Ollie on August 10, 2010, 00:15:42 Can't explain it then, seeing as Chris can see them suggests they have uploaded correctly.
Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out Post by: Mookiemoo on August 10, 2010, 00:24:38 My guess is that (1) is reading
its not bracknell but thinking about it I can't think of a brown building anywhere near reading but knowing where you are its somewhere close Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out Post by: Ollie on August 10, 2010, 00:25:19 Yup one is Reading :)

Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out (1 out of 8 answered so far) Post by: Ollie on August 10, 2010, 00:29:45 It is, but you need to guess the full name :P
Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out Post by: Mookiemoo on August 10, 2010, 00:30:37 Apex Plaza So it is - I see it several times a week but its amazing how you don't recognise a snap shot out of context I jumped for reading just knowing where you are based and where SWT went through - hence expanding to bracknell/winnersh etc Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out (1 out of 8 answered so far) Post by: Mookiemoo on August 10, 2010, 00:32:05 It is, but you need to guess the full name :P I was going off the departures - I have never been to southampton by train so cut me some slack here! Since I don't know how many are going to be up at this hour - let me go research Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out (1 out of 8 answered so far) Post by: Ollie on August 10, 2010, 00:33:35 Aha okay sorry :)
For the record 7 and 8 are same station. Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out (1 out of 8 answered so far) Post by: Mookiemoo on August 10, 2010, 00:33:53 Without doing anything other than looking at the names - I'll go for central

Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out (4/8 as of 01:04) Post by: johoare on August 10, 2010, 09:04:02 I can't see the pictures on this one either :(
I assume there is more than one way to upload pictures as when some people put pictures on I can see them, and then sometimes, like this time, I can't.. I wonder who many other people it affects? Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out Post by: TerminalJunkie on August 10, 2010, 09:22:48 Um... what pictures? I can see the pictures using Firefox, Chrome and Opera, although IE8 won't show them if I'm not logged in, and only links to them when I am logged in. I think it's something on the server that's stopping it, as the images aren't being included in the page source. 5 is Bristol Parkway Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out Post by: grahame on August 10, 2010, 11:17:11 (Oh, and if Graham's reading this - your XHTML is no longer validating... http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.firstgreatwestern.info%2Fcoffeeshop%2Findex.php%3Ftopic%3D7349.0 (http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.firstgreatwestern.info%2Fcoffeeshop%2Findex.php%3Ftopic%3D7349.0)) Fixed. Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out (7/8 as of 14:22) Post by: grahame on August 10, 2010, 14:45:47 Yep, just Picture 6 now then. Something looks vaguely familiar on that one to me. That looks like an old GW shed that's been sheeted in the background, and perhaps is a building where they make replica nameplates and other iron castings. Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out (7/8 as of 14:22) Post by: Ollie on August 10, 2010, 14:48:16 Well Graham 6 is one you should definitely get!
Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out (7/8 as of 14:22) Post by: Tim on August 10, 2010, 15:43:16 The shed in picture 6 is painted the same sort of green as some of the buildings around Chippenham station.
Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out (7/8 as of 14:22) Post by: Ollie on August 10, 2010, 17:29:52 Not Chippenham.
Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out (7/8 as of 14:22) Post by: Chris from Nailsea on August 10, 2010, 19:54:48 Maybe it's somewhere on the TransWilts line?
Even somewhere near Chippenham? Let's look at that picture again: Know what? Someone must recognise it! Have we anyone here who'd like to guess? Any ideas? Maybe people are just too shy to suggest the correct answer? Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out (7/8 as of 14:22) Post by: JayMac on August 10, 2010, 20:17:06 I still can't see the pictures, but is #6 Taunton?
EDIT: I can see them now, (thanks, grahame!) so scrub that guess. Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out (7/8 as of 14:22) Post by: grahame on August 10, 2010, 20:29:40 Well Graham 6 is one you should definitely get! Oh - I know where it is. I was there at around 09:00 this morning ... and the announcement box said "There are no trains due for the next 99 minutes". Next 99 minutes? Heck - next 600 minutes :-\ Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out (7/8 as of 14:22) Post by: Louis94 on August 10, 2010, 20:34:27 Is number 6 Pilning Or Melksham? Going by the way you say No train for next 99 minutes!
Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out (7/8 as of 14:22) Post by: Ollie on August 10, 2010, 20:37:53 It is indeed one of those 2.
Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out (7/8 as of 14:22) Post by: Louis94 on August 10, 2010, 20:39:08 It is indeed one of those 2. Im going to guess Melksham! Title: Re: Ollie's Day Out (7/8 as of 14:22) Post by: JayMac on August 10, 2010, 20:43:08 I'll concur. grahame said next 600 minutes so unlikely to be Pilning. Miss your train there and the next one will be along in 10080 minutes!!
